Taking skin moisturization as essential for reinforcement of the skin’s barrier properties protecting the body against exogenous harmful agents, from excessive water loss and skin-aging in general, an aqueous oil emulsion was formulated for skin moisturizing creams with some experimented humectants, occlusives and emollients. The cream of chosen formulation proved desirable in stable physical structure, smooth texture and rapid percutaneous penetration. Experimental tests on rabit skin (both in vitro and in vivo), the hydration potential of the cream was assessed, proving the obtained creams retaining water quite well in rabbit skin in 4 hours. No allergic signs were observed on the rabbit skin after 72 hrs of applying the cream.
